In 2007 Helen Newlove suffered the devastating loss of her husband after he was beaten to death by three drunken youths. Garry Newlove was murdered outside his home after confronting the gang, who were vandalising the family car.
Since that terrible event, Helen has campaigned tirelessly to tackle the issues of alcohol and drug fuelled youth violence. Helen believes education is the key to transforming young people’s attitudes and has been working across the UK to help develop pioneering ideas that make a real difference. The £1million Alcohol Fund was started to help these communities and that work is being led by Baroness Newlove.
