Keep your money safe abroad

Before you head off on your next holiday, it’s important to think about the safety of your money and valuables while you’re away. There are a number of ways you can avoid becoming a victim of theft on your next adventure.

  • Try using a prepaid travel card and avoid carrying large sums of cash around with you.
  • Don’t leave any of your bags or belongings unattended at any time.
  • Take a photocopy of your passport and any other ID in case they are lost.
  • Take a photo of your valuables before you go. If they go missing, it’ll be easier to identify them.
  • Ensure you know where the nearest British embassy is to your destination.
  • Make use of your accommodation safe, if one is provided.

Sainsbury’s Bank have put together this handy infographic to help you keep your money safe abroad.
